“Got to see lots and lots of puffins right outside Reykjavik. We got reasonably close to their nesting island, Akurey, after a short boat ride. The guide and ship captain were both very knowledgeable about puffins and bird life in general. We were aware ahead of time that we would not get super close to the puffins, so this tour provided the experience we expected. (Those tours cost much much more!)”

“This 2 stage tour was very good value. Our particular tour started with the Puffin trip from Rekjavik harbour out to a nearby island which was about 15 min away. The tour guide was excellent & knowledgeable. The trip was pretty gentle and lasted 1 hour, returning to the harbour for a transfer to a bigger vessel for the Whale experience. The journey out to the Whale area took about 1 hour and in our case the sea became quite choppy resulting in quite a few people experiencing sea sickness before the vessel slowed down to catch a glimpse of the Whales. We got a good close up view being on the small boat and if your photos don’t turn out, the guide also takes photos and will send them to you.”

“We saw whales which was great but sadly the lack of regulations regarding how many boats and how close they can get really disturbed me. I come from a country where boats must cut engines near whales and must not go to close. These boats actually cruised along with the animals. More must be done to stop whaling and show more respect. Then whales will come up to the boats and show off. It is not this particular operator. The boat was great. Iceland must change its attitude. The puffin trip was terrific. Highly recommended.”

“We got so lucky during the whale watching tour and had a mother/baby humpback whale that got so close to us! Even the ship’s captain mentioned that it was very special and she had never seen anything like it. I thought the 3 hours would be too much, but it’s about an hour out from the port to get to the area where the whales are. There’s a cafe that sells coffee/hot chocolate in case you need to warm up! I recommend eating before because they only had snacks. The puffin tour portion was absolutely adorable. They have binoculars that you can borrow, but they’re not the best quality, so…”
